Lee Newland

Elder/Trustee

I am keen to serve God, and His church at RBC in my leadership role. I am passionate about seeing what God is doing and saying, and working with Him and all of God’s people at RBC, to achieve His purposes.

The following verse is something I hold on to in my role as an elder and Trustee at RBC:

John 12:26 “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be.”

That’s my job. A servant – first of God and then of His church.

I gave my life to Christ in 1981, when I was a teenager, and was baptised in 1992. I am married to Sue and we moved to Redhill in September 1990, and have been at RBC ever since then. I have served in several roles at RBC over all those years, including over ten years on the leadership team previously, though my passion is worship. I have been playing drums since I was a boy, and guitar since I was a teenager. I have the joy of being a member of the worship team at RBC and on the rota for leading worship.

We have had the wonderful privilege of having 5 children of our own, all now adults. I am an accountant and work for a Christian charity in London, having worked in the public sector for the majority of my career.
